Standards and requirements for pool lighting
The basic provisions regarding the installation of lighting in the pool are set out in the following regulatory documents:
- SP 52.13330.2016;
- SP 310.1325800.2017;
- SP 31-113-2004;
- SanPiN 2.2.1/2.1.1.1278 and 2.2.1/2.1.1.1076.
Based on these documents, four types of lighting are used in pools: natural, artificial (main), emergency, evacuation. Regardless of the type of pool complex, the installation of lighting equipment is carried out in such a way as to ensure quick access to the lamps for maintenance and replacement.
Underwater lighting devices must have a moisture protection level of at least IP68. The class of above-water lamps is IP67. The electrical wiring is supplemented with high-quality waterproofing, especially in the areas of connections.
Natural light in the pool
Provided by light openings, the area of which varies within 12%-16% depending on the layout of the lighting fixtures. For uniform illumination, the light openings are made strip-shaped, placed at a height of at least 2 meters from the paths.
Standards for artificial lighting in the pool complex
The illumination level is measured in lux. Depending on the type of pool and operating conditions, different indicators are used:
- Diving pools - at least 600 lux at 1 meter above the water level;
- For water polo competitions - from 600 lux;
- For competitive swimming competitions - 1,500 lux;
- For indoor and outdoor pools on the water surface - 150 and 100 lux, respectively;
- Horizontal illumination - 50 and 150 lx for outdoor pools and preparation rooms.
Additionally, the following established requirements are taken into account:
